A game for self-awareness.
Inside The Wave is a theatre performance that focuses on the growing danger of radicalisation. At the beginning of the evening, the audience was assigned the role of applicants who want to be accepted into a mysterious movement. Divided into groups, the audience members then had to compete against each other in a game staged by the movement. In different rooms, everyone had the task of discussing current and controversial issues relating to democracy and society and then assuming a clear position. The aim was to collect as many points as possible as a group in order to reach the next level. In the course of the play – and the game – the audience experienced first-hand what it means to become radicalised.
The project was awarded the prize ‘Active for Democracy and Tolerance’ of the Federal Agency for Political Education.
